This project has two purposes: remodeling the existing 1970s McDonald Building to meet modern styles and needs, then expand the building for the Arts Department at Utah Tech. At completion, this newly-remodeled and expanded building will feature classrooms, gallery spaces, a kiln, various studios, and more.

This design-build project has undergone months of design with preconstruction efforts interlaced throughout. This collaborative process has allowed the design team and contractor to meet both the University’s schedule and budget goals as well as their list of desired features for the new building. For example, by adding an additional level to the building, the team was able to fit more rooms and studios.

Construction will began the first quarter of 2026.
