Hospital PET-Scan Suite
St. George, UT: St. George Regional Hospital PET-Scan Suite Remodel
OWNER: Intermountain Health
The original PET-CT machine at the St. George Regional Hospital was installed in 2007. With improving technologies, the hospital needed to replace the machine with newer technology. After removing the original machine, they hired Zwick to prepare the space for a new one.
In order to complete the project, the team modified the existing cabinetry and furred out a wall to add the electrical wall duct and maintain the integrity of the lead shielding. They also replaced the floors and countertops to conform to updated healthcare construction standards and installed an exhaust fan—double the size of the former—required for the new machine. During construction, the team moved the storage room to the equipment room and moved the equipment room outside the main area.
