In partnership with several contractors throughout the state, the Utah Chapter of the AGC (Associated General Contractors) officially broke ground on their new training center on June 22, 2020. Several contractors, including Zwick, have donated time, personnel, and materials to help build the facility.
Darin Zwick (2020 Chairman of AGC Utah) spoke at the groundbreaking. The construction industry is facing a labor shortage. The AGC hopes that this new facility will provide training to new entrants to the field, as well as specialized training to more experienced workers. They plan to use AI, virtual reality, BIM, and more.
At its completion, the training building will have four classrooms, an auditorium, a fall-safety tower, and a confined space training unit.
