With Bowers Residences just wrapping up, we’d like to highlight a key trade partner on the project: UMC, Inc. UMC offers professional plumbing and HVAC services for multifamily, hospitality, and commercial construction applications in Utah, Colorado, and Idaho.
Founded in 1972 by Ianthius Barlow, UMC began as a dream to support his family and provide work opportunities for his children and grandchildren. Over 50 years later, UMC has grown to employ more than 400 workers throughout the Intermountain West and to have delivered over 40,000 units.
The company credits their success through the years on their talented personnel’s commitment to their mission statement and core values: “We deliver quality service in a timely manner. We are diligently expanding operations and relationships through building a reputation of being honest and committed to our customers. We engage and reward our team to continually broaden and improve their skills to ensure we are the best in our industry.” As a project executive explained, all of their company trucks carry their slogan, “Excellence is our Standard,” as a reminder of that mission statement. Among others, two of their core values mirror Zwick Construction’s–integrity and teamwork.
In addition to their work on Bowers Residences, UMC has completed work on other Zwick Construction projects including 6th + Main, 21 by URBANA, Pierpont Lofts, Summit Vista, and more. They are currently working on Cold Springs and View 21.
