Throughout the years, Zwick Construction has completed numerous fire stations for Unified Fire Authority, Utah’s largest fire agency. Our most recent is the Taylorsville UFA Station #117, located just minutes from Zwick Construction’s headquarters.
Station 117 features the finest materials to meet all the occupational needs of the firefighters, including five large apparatus bays, office spaces, and training rooms, while also providing the comforts of home.
Two fire crews operate out of Station 117. Personnel have access to a large common kitchen, living quarters, and a public foyer. The station also features beautiful exterior finishes and landscaping, as well as an observation deck.
"The Taylorsville Fire Station was unreal. It is a very nicely facility, just like all the Unified Fire Stations we have worked on. The design team for the facility was successful in creating an impressive project."
At the station’s completion in 2017, the two crews held a large ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included traditional ceremonies for opening a new firehouse, such as the retiring of the previous station flag, washing an engine, and pushing it onto its new bay. The UFA’s bagpipe band accompanied the march of the color guard as they ceremoniously walked around the building and posted the new flag on Station 117.
