Zwick Construction and our JV partner have made excellent progress on the Summit Vista Senior Community over the last several months. The joint venture with Okland Construction began in July 2018 and has provided opportunities for both teams to work and learn together.
The Summit Vista Senior Community is an expansive 100-acre campus that will provide around 15,000 housing units to the residents of this age 62+ community. At its completion, the project will have three neighborhoods– each with a clubhouse and six residential buildings.
The genius of the Summit Vista Senior Community is that the needs of its residents can be filled without them even leaving the campus. The clubhouse has a small store/deli, three restaurants, woodworking shop, beauty salon, fitness room, a spacious pool, classrooms, a pickleball court, and a bank. Residential buildings have underground parking. Additionally, Zwick and Okland are working on completing a medical building that will provide memory care, assisted living, and skilled nursing.
A unique feature of the campus is that every building is connected via a “Main Street”, a climate-controlled pedestrian walkway on the second level. Since the buildings were completed before the connection was made, Zwick had to cut out the wall of the existing building, and ensure that the buildings measured up exactly in order to build that bridge.
The Zwick Construction team are currently working on that medical building, the pickleball court, a third residential building, and a fourth residential building (on hold).
