Introducing "The Stack"

Located atop a former brickyard and adjacent to the Smith Kiln Chimney (sometimes referred to as “the stack”), The Stack Apartments is a luxury apartment complex in Millcreek, UT. A Zwick Construction project, The Stack Apartments represents countless hours of management and work by many individuals at the company.

The Stack Apartments features 254 high-end units. Residents have access to many amenities including an outdoor pool and courtyard, a fitness center, lobbies, gathering spaces, a golf simulator, and more. The building has two underground levels of parking with five levels of housing above.

Uniquely, the building was designed to curve with the road. Because of this distinctive design, each apartment unit differs in size and layout—in contrast to many multifamily complexes. This required extra coordination with MEP trade partners from the start.

Besides the challenge of those varying unit sizes, the team faced additional setbacks that they creatively worked through. This project broke ground in June 2020, which put the project in the midst of early COVID events, introducing major supply chain issues, manpower limitations, and various health-related restrictions. Moreover, shipping delays of materials from China caused additional setbacks for the team. Even still, the team worked closely with each other and the owners to deliver the project.
