Our HSE Program
The safety and health of our employees is our biggest priority. Zwick strongly believes in taking a proactive approach regarding the health and safety of each employee, as well as the environment they work in. Our HSE Program covers many facets of construction; see some of the programs and plans we have in place to ensure that our employees and trade partners are keeping the safest standards.
Accountability
At Zwick Construction, we value a culture of safety which protects all personnel and returns them safely home every night. When it comes to safety, our biggest priority is empowering our people to speak up when they see unsafe practices. When we work together to minimize and vocalize risks, we create safe sites. We hold everyone accountable for their own safety and the safety of those around them.
PPE & KASK Helmets
To promote and nurture the safest work environment, Zwick Construction offers KASK helmets to every employee. These helmets are world-renowned for being the safest and most comfortable head protection available in commercial construction. Zwick's movement towards helmets with chin straps is another example of our commitment to lead in safety, and to ensure our employees have access to the best equipment in our industry.
Safety Committee
In order to maintain the highest standards of safety at each of our jobsites, Zwick Construction assembled a safety committee that meets monthly to discuss various facets of health, safety, and environment. They focus on identifying safety concerns on projects, revising standard operating procedures, recognizing our involvement with OSHA, obtaining additional safety trainings for all operations teams, and reviewing our safety goals.
Site-Specific HSE Plan
Prior to the construction phase, a site-specific HSE plan is assembled, based on the requirements of the project site. Variables are evaluated like manpower, site conditions, and nearby features (such as a school, hospital, canal, etc.) Trainings are designed and delivered to the site team, as well as each person who will work on the site. Meetings are held weekly to review the plans. Zwick’s onsite policies and procedures have been formalized and well-documented in an HSE Program that is present on every job.
