To respond to the growing needs of the BYU campus and the adjacent Missionary Training Center (equaling around 33,000 people between both campuses), Zwick Construction was hired to build a large laundry, maintenance, and emergency facility.
Completed in 2015, this award-winning, fast-track project consisted of the construction of two new buildings, totaling 99,000 SF of space and the installation of more than 2,000 feet of utility tunnels within high-traffic areas of this busy university campus.
The property is located adjacent to a family student housing community, which required extra consideration about the safety and security of the site.
Construction of the building was originally expected to finish around 14 months, but due to BIM technology and impressive coordination, it was finished in 11 months instead.
This project allowed several BYU graduates from Zwick Construction to return to their alma mater. We are grateful for the project team for their hard work on this project.
