The Brookfield Apartments, a Zwick Construction St. George Office project, recently hit 14 months of construction, and the team has already turned over some of the buildings including the clubhouse, poolhouse, pool, and two apartment complexes, totaling 40 units.
The project covers a 12-acre area. At its completion, Brookfield will feature ten apartment buildings, two amenity buildings, and a pool.
Currently, the Zwick project team has delivered two apartment buildings, nearly completed three more apartment buildings, and are in the process of framing three others. Most recently, they have finished the footings and underground plumbing for the final two apartment buildings.
The scheduling of the delivery of this project has changed over time. The original plan was to complete all the buildings on the same timeline, but due to the owner’s requests, the schedule was altered to be completed in two phases. The first phase of the project will be wrapped up within the coming weeks. Phase one includes 160 of the 260 units. Additionally, the clubhouse (delivered in May), poolhouse (May), and pool (August) were also included in phase one of the project.
With those two buildings being turned over, residents have been moving into their new homes at the community. Since the project team is still completing the other ten buildings on the property, the team has to be extremely mindful of the safety of those residents.
With the scheduling set as it is, the team had to plan effectively to ensure that the materials they need for the project arrived on time. This required them to order materials early into construction.
This planning proved to be extremely beneficial to the overall schedule of the project, especially with shortages of materials due to COVID-19 delays.
