After a month of being shut down due to California COVID-19 regulations, 7Empire has been reopened. The reopening has required new procedures and coordination between the project team, subs, and the owners. This includes holding meetings outside, checking in/accounting for every person on the site daily, only allowing Zwick Construction personnel in the trailer, hiring an extra employee to oversee social distancing and cleaning, and more.
At its completion, 7Empire will be a luxurious mixed-use apartment complex in Japantown, San Jose, CA. It will include 97-units with a small commercial retail area. The second floor of the complex will have a courtyard with a fitness room and clubroom. The third floor will have a yoga room that overlooks that fitness room. The units themselves will vary between two-story townhomes and 1-3 bedroom apartments. Perhaps most uniquely, the complex will have an underground, automated vehicle lift system, which will provide residents with more parking stalls in less space. This lift system took nearly one year alone to complete, and is a first for Zwick Construction.
Thanks to the project team for their hard work and dedication in keeping with required protocol and managing the project so well.
