Project Highlight: Pierpont Lofts by URBANA

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

Finished nearly one year ago, the Pierpont Lofts is a luxury complex built by Zwick Construction in Salt Lake’s downtown historic warehouse district. Construction ran from July 2017-July 2019.

The property has nine-stories, two of which are parking/lobby space and the rest are housing. In the complex, there are 87-units, ranging in size from 390-1,040 SF.

The building itself was designed to reflect the surrounding architecture: exposed concrete walls, full masonry facade, and corten steel-covered balconies. The district in which it was built is very historic; this required extreme care from the project team. The adjacent buildings, dating over 100 years, were built using unreinforced masonry. The Zwick team had to ensure that during construction these neighboring buildings were unaffected.

In addition to being built on a tight site, the construction required a temporary realignment of a six-lane, state roadway.

Despite these challenges, the project team completed this award-winning project, delivering a new multifamily facility for our repeat client, for whom we’ve constructed seven other properties.
